The Cine Festival with the good graces of the Entertainment Development Corporation had an exciting opening gala last Saturday. The gala, which was held at the Palms Hotel had many young filmmakers and with a special appearance by film star, Mickey Rourke. Not long ago I spoke with Leslie Nielsen about filmmaking in Las Vegas. “Vegas is a wonderful playground. I don’t think it’s going to replace Hollywood in terms of filmmaking. However, as a location spot, I think more producers will use Las Vegas in that realm.” I also spoke with Director, Bob Weimer, who relocated to Las Vegas a few years ago, and has won a couple of Peabody Awards, not to mention his work with Big Blue Marlin, which received 13 Emmys -- spoke to me about the changing technology in theaters. According to Weimer, “Some theaters have switched over from the 35m films to DVD. This is very cost effective, even though, it can’t compare to the quality of film. Most people that I’ve spoken to really couldn’t tell the difference.” We’ll talk more about filmmaking in my next column.  Phyllis Diller, the legendary comedienne will be receiving the Steve Allen Pioneer achievement Award for comedy at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival in September, which will be held from the 4th through the 8th at the Stardust Hotel’s main showroom. In the meantime, Phyllis isn’t planning any live stage performances; she says there will only be television and motion picture appearances.

Tucked away upon the bluffs at Del Mar, California is the old European charm of the L’Auberge Resort and Spa. Just mentioning its name is stimulating to the

mind. Really, I’m not exaggerating. Whether it’s relaxing on one of the private patios in one’s suite, listening to the ocean, or taking a bath with the finest sea salt bath crystals, L’Auberge Resort and Spa surrounds its patrons in the finest of amenities. The resort has 100 newly decorated hotel rooms and eight suites,

which are calming to the senses when retiring for the evening. This is especially relaxing when resting on goose-down pillows and comforters. In reflecting on an era of times gone by, with the gracious style and elegance, L’Auberge has retained the aura of the past.

The Jimmy Durante Pub is to this day a gathering place for many celebrities, in fact, Sonny King, who worked with Jimmy Durante, is still singing in Las Vegas. Names such as Pat O’Brien, Bing Crosby, Danny Thomas, Red Skelton, Gloria Swanson, George Raft, Ava Gardner. These were the type of celebrities that would go to the Del Mar Turf Club to watch the horse races. Inevitably they would stop by at the Jimmy Durante Pub and many stayed at the resort. Dick Van Patten and Burt Bacharach, two gentlemen I’ve interviewed over the years, both have fond memories of L’Auberge Resort and Spa.

Other projects that have come to fruition are, Legends of Comedy with tributes to Roseanne Barr, Robin Williams, both of which are playing Valley Forge, and Legends of Diva's which is being created as we write. With all the success, Stuart has yet to stop and take a break. On Stage Entertainment, the company he heads up as CEO just bought out the rights for the live production of the Blues Brothers. According to Stuart, he made an agreement with Victor Pisano and his wife Judy Belushi to bring about the show in the manner that would best highlight the late Belushi. There is also a Legends in Concert in Hawaii at the Aloha Showroom and two theaters in Orlando, Florida scheduled to open in a year and a half. The Osmond Brothers are also headlining in Branson, Missouri as well as Roy Clark and Doug Gabriel in the Legends Concert Theater. "I just don't know how this man does it all." said one concert promoter, who chooses to remain anonymous.

Stuart, who has the Legends Ranch in the southern part of Las Vegas, has just created the Legends Ranch Estates, a group of 30 customized homes for families that want to have horses and stables on their property. According to Johnny, there will be a mile and a half of riding trails for the estate development. In conclusion, John Stuart’s outlook upon life is relatively simple. "Everything on Earth was created by GOD. Most importantly he created man and woman to be the greatest entertainers for all mankind." Stuart, who is also active in the Mormon Church, is a teacher of the Gospel doctrine, teaching with the King James Version of the Bible and the Latter Day Saints doctrine to the adults. His wife Alex is the Camp Director for young women. It's no wonder that a man such as John Stuart was the only current show producer in the list of 300 persons nominated for the selection as the People That Had The Most Impact on Las Vegas' first 100 years. Congratulations to a guy that grew up in a family of nine brothers and sisters that made a difference.

For the first time in the history of Las Vegas, there's going to be a Las Vegas Comedy Festival, which will make its debut in the Wayne Newton Theater at the Stardust September the 4 – 8th. Steve Caito and Mark Allen, the creators of the festival, said this will give anyone who has ever dreamed of being a comedian a chance to develop their talents as well as professionals. The contest starts with Laugh Across America, in a ten-city tour where the top comedians will be selected from each city and invited to come to Las Vegas and compete.  

During the 5 day festival there will be workshops offered which will include industry insiders, comedic actors, inprovisationalists and today’s biggest stars. Wayne Newton, Pete Barbutti, along with Norm Crosby, Steve Lawrence and magician, Steve Wyrick where at the press conference and have endorsed the festival. The big hit at the press conference was Adam Dayro, an eight-year-old comic that Wayne Newton congratulated personally. Newton who is known as Mr. Las Vegas, when asked what a comic meant to him said, "The guy who asked me to be here at 11 o’clock in the morning."

Square Ring Promotions and Roy Jones in association with HBO and the Stratosphere put on a fairly interesting fight card last week. The card billed as Knocked down, Dragged out, featured heavyweight Michael Grant, (32-2-25KO's) the former IBF heavyweight champ knocking out Anthony Willis, (19-11-1-13KO's) in 2:55 of the second round. Grant is trained by Teddy Atlas and is great shape. The co-featured event had Michael Bennett (9-2-8Ko's) knock out Chris Hairston (4-5-0KO's) in 35 seconds of the third round. Out of the six bouts the first lady's Cruiserweight fight took place. Kathy Reeves (12-2-4KO's) beat out Marsha Valley (10-6-4KO's). Valley had a point taken away in the 5th round for holding; a very interesting bout especially at the Cruiserweight level. The Lodge at Torrey Pines, one of the historic landmarks of San Diego is truly a work of art. William Evans of the Evans Hotel chain refurbished the property practically to its original state. The purpose of this article is to take you on a journey to their restaurant, A.R. Valentine.

Early California craftsmen designed the restaurant, which was named after the turn-of the century artist A.R. Valentine. Overlooking the Torrey Pines golf course, a championship course, one captures the ocean breeze and is given a chance to go back into time. Steve Pelzer, the Vice President of Marketing for Evans Hotels says it is just a matter of time before the property receives a five-star rating. Currently it has a four-star rating with five-star amenities. But enough of the superlative factors, let's take a culinary journey. Michael Shigemoto, the General Manager and Jeff Jackson, the Executive Chef has provided dining guest with a large selection of California wines and market driven California cuisine.Without being indecisive, my guest William Mincey also a hotel

Manager started our journey by ordering Tuna Corpecci which is raw-ahi tuna, in a horse radish cream base with capers.

I ordered watercress soup, which is scallops served in a soup dish; then pouring a creamy base mixed with spices over the scallops. Here are two delicious appetizers. Our main entrée included Veal baby braised chunks with spices amd red lettuce. The hook and line, which is salmon served with some wonderful ingredients, including black truffle and spices is sumptuous. A.R. Valentine is a world class restaurant, which combines elegance in a comfortable setting, with old world charm. It is without hesitation one of the top restaurants in the U.S. which explains there excellent service and there quality of cuisine. For this reason, I would highly recommend a two-hour culinary journey. In closing I would be remiss if I didn't mention the desert menu, which is prepared on premises. My I suggest Boca Negra, a flowerless Mexican chocolate, and a lemon tart with raspberries. A.R. valentine is opened for breakfast lunch and dinner. John Stuart Remarries Wife Alex last December

He's quick, witty and always comes off the wall with something unique to talk about. He's the man behind Legends in Concert, and is the creator and producer of Legends. He's Mr. John Stuart. Johnny, as his friends call him, had the vision of

creating the greatest tribute to celebrity legends over twenty years ago, which is a now a proven success. Sitting in his office surrounded by antiques, an Oakwooden desk, and such, I spoke to "Johnny" about entertainment. "Entertainment goes in a cycle” He said. “First there were headliners, and then came the production shows. Now, we're seeing raw talent, such as Danny Gans as a new star on the strip. In my show, we capitalize on nostalgia.

The heart rendering entertainment, a show like Legends in Concert, brings that into place," said Stuart. Stuart feels there will be interactive productions shows, with shows like Ripley's Believe it or Not Live, and Country Tonight, the world's largest country variety show, based in Branson Missouri. Both of these shows are owned by On-Stage Entertainment, Stuart's company. "So, is that complete answer," I asked Johnny. "No," he replied, "For years folks have enjoyed a time tunnel of memories. We will never forget those memories of the stars we grew up with. But the special effects and the fantasy type productions have their place in Las Vegas. But when you get to see live creation tributes of Elvis Presley, Liberace, and the Temptations, along with Nat King Cole, Tom Jones, and John Lennon, these shows will never take a back seat. Stuart certainly has validity with his statement. His Legends in Concert is celebrating over 18 years at the Imperial Palace, and his Country Tonight show in Branson was voted into the Country's Hall of Fame.

Pete Allman's Celebrity Scene News 05/22/2002

Majestik the Magnificent, and longtime friend of the Jackson's who is currently working with Rebbie Jackson, was appalled when he learned that Danny Gans was initiating a complaint against the variety show performers, Society of Seven. SOS a group of musicians known throughout Hawaii is appearing in the main showroom of the Golden Nugget. Gans' Manager, Chip Lightman was at the opening of SOS, and felt that the group was performing impersonations. According to Gans' contract, originally signed by Steve Wynn, no one that impersonates would be allowed to appear in any of the Mirage properties.

As a result, SOS has been asked not to advertise on television stations or on the hotel channels located in each guestroom. "I think it's a terrible thing that a group like SOS - who have an excellent variety show is being attacked by someone like Danny Gans. I can't see where the group is doing anything that resembles Gans' performance. I think he's being selfish and hurting their right to make an honest living," stated Majestic.

SOS has worked with many charitable organizations, which they've done since the 60's. And as well have donated some of their proceeds in record sales -- to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers, wounded or killed in the line of duty trust fund.

Tony Ruivivar, the spokesperson for the group, since being together for over thirty years, can't understand why a headliner such as Danny Gans would complain about SOS, performance as variety show.

Cheif Oleg Bacov

The Russian restaurant appropriately called Eliseevsky, recently appeared on Vegas Insights on KYRK- channel 35 TV. Executive Chef, Oleg Bacov and Stacy Eliseevsky, whom the restaurant was named after, said that some people may not aware that beef stroganoff originally comes from Russia. Most of us are familiar with that dish; however, Chef Oleg prepares it in its original recipe. First and foremost one should always use a little canola oil, tenderloin beef tips, mushrooms, onions, and of course garnishes; such as black and green olives; buckwheat, which reminds me of brown rice, and tomatoes and lettuce. There are a number of exciting and very healthy dishes served at Eliseevsky. One of my favorites is Borsch soup Charo had a packed house at the Sahara Congo room Friday, May 17. The dancer, composer, guitarist, comedienne, the one and only "cuchi-cuchi girl" danced with me backstage. And during a conversation, Marlene Ricci and her assistant, Arlene Gibson discussed Charo's 20-year absence from Las Vegas. The essence of the conversation was that she was simply reliving the old "glory days" of Las Vegas.

Her show, entitled "Bravo" is a fast-paced international variety show. Some of the highlights of the show include ventriloquist, Sammy King and his partner, "Francisco The Mexican Parrot." King has appeared on more than 25,000 shows since 1958. Another highlight of the show includes the aerial adage Cees (Case) and Kathy (Katie) Dekok, who were both, raised in Holland.

The couple performed one of the best adagio's, with the most unique flying work, which takes a tremendous amount of strength the partner above one's head. Bravo is a combined effort of Char Entertainment, Inc., along with Onstage Entertainment Inc. Tickets are $44.95 plus tax, and show times are at 7:30 nightly, with an added 10:00 PM show on Saturday's and Monday's.

Marlene, Charo, and Arleen

Cat Daddy - is one of those soul-surviving musical groups, which have been very successful in Las Vegas. Roger Kennerly-Saint, one of the group's leaders said the group has enjoyed "Twenty years of success, and that one of their great successes is playing the music of the 60's, 70's and 80's. Cat Daddy appears Wednesday's through Thursday, 9pm to 1:00am, Friday's and Saturday's at 10:00pm to 3:00am and Sunday's, 10:00pm to 2am.

The main event between Ben Tackie (25-3-15kos) out of Acera-Ghana and Kostyu Tazyu (29-29-1-23kO's) from Sydney, Australia, out at the Mandalay Bay Event Center was action-packed in every round. The event, which was presented by Showtime Millennium boxing and Cedric Kushner, didn't have a big turnout, but certainly presented a great boxing card.

Tackie, who was the aggressor, received most of the blows from Kostyu. He couldn't get past Tazyu's speed. However in the 3rd and 10th round, Tackie showed some strong punching by bruising Tazyu underneath his eyes. Judges Duane Ford scored it: 119 -109 in favor of Tazyu, and Chuck Giampa and Bill Graham had it, 120-108 a unanimous decision making Tazyu the winner and retaining all three of his belts; the WBC, WBA and IBS Super lightweight titles.

The co-main event featuring Oba Carr (55-6-1-31KO's) and Kuvanych Toygonbayev (18-1-12KO's) in a 10-round WelterWeight bout proved to be fruitless for Carr. Toygonbayev was the aggressive and stronger puncher. Carr had two points taken away for a low blow and one point for a head butt in the 5th Round. Judges scored it: 99-88 and 100-87 making Toygonbayev the victor.

Pete Allman Talking with Irwin "Magic" Johnson

Irwin "Magic" Johnson spent some quality time talking with me about vision. Johnson was brought up in a relatively poor environment; he however had a wonderful family life.

There were times when Magic would have 1 meal a day. But he kept his vision on being a success in basketball "I knew I would succeed and I always kept a smile inside as well as outside even in the hardest of times I had to sacrifice,

When I wanted a new pair of shoes and new cloths I would have to ware the same cloths the next day that's the price you pay for a better tomorrow" stated Magic. Magic was able to keep his vision positive by focusing. In accomplishing anything in life one must learn to focus. Don't let anything interfere with your walk down the path of life. It's somewhat like a horse with blinders moving the carriage around town. The horse can only see forward. That is defiantly a hard thing to do when there is confusion in our lives. Just stop and think for a moment; if you keep that burning desire and have patients together with focusing you can accomplish your vision. That's exactly what Magic Johnson has done throughout his life in basketball and business. Magic wants everybody to know "you have to go for it".

One never knows where you meet your next star. Last week my dear friend Tony Mecheri invited me to Picasso's Restaurant at the Bellagio. While sitting at the bar Phyllis McGuire happen to be walking by. I quickly introduced Phyllis to Tony who is a very romantic vocalist and composer who CD will be released in Europe this year. During our conversation Phyllis gave Tony some examples of some of the songs that made her popular. So here we are listening to Phyllis sing "Sincerely" on of here big hits and then "My Way". It was a wonderful meeting of the minds. By the way, Phyllis was joined by Dame Cleo Lane, John Dankworth, and Tony Curtis for dinner that night.

Where is your mind today? When you think about all the strife in the world, Check these thoughts out. I think to myself no more suffering in the world. Will you do the same? What a dream in the world of strife. The reality of it all, where's it going you ask?

I think of selfishness and greed it's nothing new in our universe that we humans have incurred throughout our lifetime. Its easy when you are lost in the superficial world that we live in to not face the situations we have created. Its time to awaken from the disasters that we set into motion lets live each of our lives in harmony. I think to myself no more suffering in the world. Will you do the same?

Mayor Oscar Goodman was supportive of his friend Sterling McPherson and his first boxing promotion through Showtime in downtown Las Vegas. Unfortunately last Saturday was a bit early for boxing fans to come out on the Fremont street experience. Shobox as it's appropriately called exposes young fighters on a national scale. The doors opened at 12:30 with a live telecast starting at 2pm. So the viewing audience could see the fight at 5:00pm EST. In any event, it was a nice fight card.

Guillermo Jones Executes some heavy blows to Tim Williamson

Guillermo Jones (28 - 2 -1, 22KO's) of Collen Panama beat out Tim Williamson (13 - 1 -0, 11KO's) of Jacksonville Florida by a split decision. Jones had only fought twice in 2 years. Kili Madriad from Hawaii made his pro debut against Israel Sandoval from San Jose California. Madriad won by an unanimous decision. The co-main event featured

Edwin Cassiani gets a Straight hit to the chest from Luis Collazo

Edwin Cassiani (24-4, 20KO's) of Palensque Columbia taking on Luis Collazo (14- 0, 7KO's) out of Brooklyn New York. This was a 10 round welterweight bout. This started out very well. Cassiani won the first 2 rounds but got caught by Collazo with a right then a left jab had him dazed. Referee Jay Nady stopped the fight in the 3rd round making Luis Collazo the victor by TKO. Future fights will be held in downtown Las Vegas through Sterling Promotions, Frank Warren, and Showtime in the near future.

Dan Goosen is now promoting fights at the Hard Rock Hotel. On Sunday April the 14th Goosen - Tutor Promotions, promoted a double header with light heavyweight Gentleman Glen Johnson, (38 - 7, 27KO's) taking on Derrick "Royalty" Harmon (21 - 2 ,10KO's) and 2000 Olympic gold medalist Mohammad Abdullaev (6 - 0,5 KO's) taking on Joel Salas (10 - 1- 1 3KO's) of Oxnard California in the welterweight co feature. The unique part about this promotion is former playboy model Amy Hayes doing the ring announcing and the Red Rocker, Sammy Hagar opening the show with some cool music. The fight card is part of the Fox Sunday Night Fights broadcast nation wide.

Tuscany Suites Hotel is the new place in town to hang out. Shaun Tracy the food and beverage director and owner of Palazzo, their new restaurant informs me their prices are the best in town. Executive Chef Luigi Tornatore seen with President Ford in this column said he is enjoying the diversified selection of people traveling to Las Vegas. .

Palazzo is known for their Osso bucco a veal shank dish brazed with lots of wonderful ingredients and their Scampi Luigi. Chef Tornatore specializes in preparing European and Italian dishes in which, everything is prepared fresh. There is no microwave used in this restaurant. I suggest you try their lunch to acquaint yourself with a wonderful dining experience. It's very reasonable with dishes as low as $7

 Buffalo Jim Barrier, known for his colorful wrestling show is inviting the public to join him every Friday evening at 11 o'clock on Channel 48. Through the years as Las Vegas developed Jim Barrier has been part of that history. His appearances at various charity events have won him various awards. However, he has also been the victim as the underdog in his battle against the Crazy Horse Gentlemen's Club. As owner of Auto and Marine Electric Jim Barrier feels he has every right to stay at his location which is next to the Crazy Horse. That's not the way the owners of the Crazy Horse see it.

They would like to see the long bearded big Buffalo Jim disappear. That is his business. They simply want to expand their business. Barrier is a hard working business man who wants to see everyone profit fairly. Unfortunately greed overtakes the majority of people, unless they put themselves in check. Can't we all just get along boys?

Kerry Cole, the lead singer of Abbey Road, the band who backs up Tony Orlando at the Golden Nugget does a superlative performance in singing Led Zepplin songs. Cole who has been with Orlando for over 3 years is part of the walk 3 times fitness program where he and Tony Orlando with other members of the band and fans walk 40 minutes a day. Tony has lost 25lbs in 2 months just by walking. We are all invited to join Tony in the walk 3 times fitness program which starts in front of the Golden Nugget at Starbucks at 3pm Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays until the end of his engagement .

Anyone who can afford to promote fights will jump on the bandwagon. That is exactly what the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel, and Tower is what it's doing on April the 27th. The officials of the Stratosphere will feature 2 time world Featherweight champion Kevin "The Flushing Flash" Kelley in their outdoor event center. Kelley, a south paw seeking his third world title as a JR. Lightweight gained a popular presents in boxing when he won the WBC Featherweight championship from Goya Vargas on what later became the WBC fight of the year. In 1995 he won the WBC Fight of the Year Honor for his fight against Alejandro Gonzalez. Currently Kelley is also a fight commentator as well as a trainer for fighters. The event will have a full under card will include one women's bout. Tickets are $58 for ring side, $36 for premium seats, and $24 for plaza seats.

Arthur Williams (33 - 5, 24 KO's) a resident of Las Vegas will make his comeback when the takes on Calvin Davis (16 - 0, 13 KO's) for the USDA Cruiserweight Championship this Saturday the 23rd in the Theater of Performing Arts at the Aladdin. The late Frank Sinatra was truly a man who goes out of his way to help people. He wasn't the type of person who did it for prestige, he simply did what he thought was right for his fellow human being.

I recently stayed at the Ingleside Inn where many celebrities have stayed including Mr. Sinatra. In talking with Mel Haber the gentleman who owns the Inn, his words about Mr. Sinatra was simply that he was an awe of him and that indeed he was a very loyal and generous man. "Mr Sinatra had his pre wedding party at Melvyns. He would often have a big dinner party with his pals. He would request a long table to be placed in the middle of the restaurant. During those days Mr. Sinatra guests where Jimmy Van Husen a famous song writer and Leo Durocher the manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers among other businessmen" stated Haber.

Francis Albert Sinatra often referred to as Chairman of the Board according to actor and legendary singer Herb Jefferies was a man who had a short fuse "He could blow up in a minute, yet he had a heart of gold. Frank and I knew each other for 30 years. Shall we say that when ever I would speak with Frank I wouldn't say I would disagree with you instead I would say to Frank I don't see it that way that way it was from my point of view not his. Their will never be another Sinatra he was one of a kind" stated Jeffries.

A couple weeks ago on the Las Vegan Report on KDWN I asked a trivia question about Mr. Sinatra. Actually it involved Frank, Sammy and Dean. The question was about the Paradise Spa. In any event the Spa was a hang out for all three gentleman and their girlfriends at the time. Now the Paradise Spa which has been closed for years is the home of Ali Baba Restaurant and Night Club. Believe it or not some of the old timers still stop by there.

Herb and Savanna Jeffries

Tony Orlando, is with out question the master of his art. He is genuine and truly loves his audience I applaud Tony for his contribution in helping raise money for the 911 victims of New York. This flick is a comedy which deals with a couple that go to see Tony in concert. "It's a big little movie" states Tony.

Shaquille O'Neal

Shaquille O'Neal announced last week at the MGM Grand that he will host a series of comedy roasts to raise money for the non profit organizations such as KIDZ Education Experience Program. KEEP is a non profit organization which will provide the best most innovative mechanism to help direct inner city youth in the quest to gain a collage degree with minimal or no financial burdens. The next roast will be held June the 28th in the EFX Theater honoring Dallas Cowboy running back Emmet Smith. The celebrity roast series is the brain child of O'Neal. "I look forward being doged by my friends at this roast its all for a good cause thanks to Big Man Shaq" stated Smith.

Award shows are spreading up all over the place little ones, big ones, and international awards shows. And now Channel 35, KYRK the new kid on the block has had their own award show. The difference however is that they help the little people. One of 40 stations owned and operated by Mako Communications Channel 35 provides more local programming to the community then any of the other stations in Las Vegas.

Which brings me to the point of the KYRK Channel 35 Awards Banquet held at Amlee Gourmet last Saturday. It was a fun night especially for our former Lieutenant Governor Lonnie Hammergren, who incidentally is one of the great neurosurgeons of our time.

Audie Morrow the national engineer for Mako Communications announced the awards for the evening starting with Ron Knight and his lovely Co-Host Kimberly, who host Out of Control, a late night weekly show discussing people's sexual preferences among other things. Well you should have seen some of those T.V. clips

The biggest laugh was the award Ron received showing the hips of peanut butter. I will let you imagine the rest check the cup out that Ron is holding in the picture. Ron by the way is also performing at the HOP on Friday nights. Another interesting award had gone to Jere Morrisey and Minnie Coston who received a certificate of appreciation from Bobbie Morrow, the Sales Manager of KYRK. Morrisey is a retired real-estate broker who is publishing a book on cooking and flying. Morrisey attends many of the T.V. Tapings at KYRK, bringing some of his famous chili dishes for tasting. It is somewhat like having a big happy family, Folks who have no premonition, who are down to earth. There were many other awards especially those who were presented with a shovel. That's for people who talk a lot but don't always get the job done. Oh well enough already.

Steven Lee the proprietor of Amlee Gourmet, who is also known for his creative cooking said he enjoys playing host to award shows. Many of the political figures of our community attend fund raisers at his restaurant. The unique point about Steven is his talents as a junket host. Here is a man who knows some of the wealthiest gamblers in Asia. Steven is helping the economy of Las Vegas. Congratulations Steven

What is it like to separate your spirit from your mind? That is a very good question which is unanswered by those who are not willing to make changes in their lives. Chris Liles, world renowned sculpture and artist who was mentioned in last weeks column is one of those rare individuals who can attest to the productivity of accessing and knowing your inner being. According to Liles, gut instinct is your spirit which will never fail you.

If you can use that in your daily living, keeping all that is around you positive, there is nothing you can't accomplish. Perhaps that is why some people can accomplish in 15 minutes what it takes others to accomplish in 7 years. I didn't talk about focusing and how to go about this. The Scintas, the family entertainment show which includes comedy, and anything from Joe Cocker to, Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, and Frank Sinatra has taken Las Vegas by storm. The Scintas are enjoying a tremendous success in Las Vegas. Frank Scinta said the group has been touring for 20 years before they arrived in Las Vegas. The Scintas first started at the Las Vegas Hilton's Night Club for an unlimited engagement then moving to the Masquerade Showroom at the Rio. Each one of the Scintas enjoys Las Vegas and believes it is a great community for raising a family. Many celebrities frequent their show including up and coming artist. Antonio Mecheri, a new world recording artist signed to Music Masters was very touched by the Scintas sincerity. "I was moved by the tribute that Frankie and his sister sang in honor to our American Soldiers and their families; it brought tears to my eyes."

A congratulation is the appropriate way to thank Absolute Boxing and Fitness Gym for providing young people a way to keep active in a positive manner. The Gym which open Friday, February the 15th is the own and operated by Johnny McClain. It is also the home of Laila Ali the daughter of Muhammad Ali who appeared at the opening. Absolute Boxing and Fitness Gym is also the home of Absolute Entertainment which promotes boxing events such as the Bell Griffin and Kline Smith on February the 17th .
