Radio legend Jack Gibson "The Rapper" was recently honored at the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Gibson known for his smooth rap helped discover Little Richard, James Brown, Smokey Robinson, Gladys Knight and a host of other talents. At 78 years of age, Jack Gibson has returned from retirement and has the top radio show in Las Vegas on KCEP 88.1—on Sunday afternoon, heard at 4 PM. "There’s a big interest in folks listening to my kind of show." States Gibson. "I’m the only jock along with Hal Jackson that’s left from the 40’s & 50’s—We pioneered radio with our smooth talk." Stated Gibson.  Gibson who hasn’t yet been inducted in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame recently got together with Little Richard in conversation about the Hall of Fame. They spoke on The Nite Shift Television show on Prime Cable 61. When he learned Jack hadn’t been inducted in the hall of fame, he stated "I grew up with Jack in Atlanta, Georgia. Jack has always been ahead of his time. He is a unique person in radio and we’ll just have to do something about his induction in the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame." Little Richard concluded.  "I’m going to talk to my people in New York about that."

Steve Wynn, the mastermind as I see it, who changed the face of Las Vegas has the most exclusive property opening in October of this year. It’s simply called "Bellagio." The who’s who in the business and entertainment world, will be awaiting for this moment. Word has it that a small hotel room costs 300 dollars and up. Bellagio will present the most beautiful water-spectacular events and some of the finest dining establishments in the world.

James Brown (The God Father of Soul) just created another first in show business. He recorded Pat Boone, singing "Papa’s got a brand new bag," one of Brown’s big hits. The recording session was in Augusta, Georgia, in Brown’s recording studios. Boone by the way, isn’t wearing white shoes these days…

A funny situation occurred the other night at the Reserve Hotel & Casino. I was having dinner with Jack "The Rapper" Gibson at Pasta Mombasa, their Italian Restaurant. During our conversation of chit-chat with the restaurant manager, Michael Villegas, we met Congo Jack and Monsoon Mary. Talk about exciting characters! These two charming people are part of the theme of the African-Safari-themed hotel. Unlike a normal dinner, an evening at Pasta Mombasa is full of surprises including food so delectable, you’ll float away…

You're probably wondering what we had for dinner.  First and foremost, is our wonder pasta sagioli soup.  This exciting dish has italian white beans, with pasta and seasoned with imported with pincetti cheese.  Our main dishes consisted of an 18 oz. porter house steak grilled over applewood and smothered with wild mushroom, roasted garlic and glazed red onions.  Jacks dish consisted of grilled scampi.  Which consisted of large jumbo shrimp, marinated in virgin olive  oil and garlic.  I won't tell you all the dishes we enjoyed, but it was plenty; I assure you.  Give them a call at the Reserve Hotel & Casino  (702) 558-7000.

There’s always some great give-aways such as buffets and show tickets. Check out our webpage at www.celebrityscene.com.   Also, I might add, tune to the Nite Shift television show with Buck Hunter and Dave Swan on Prime Cable 61 at 11:30 PM until 2:30 AM seven days a week. We also have great give-aways on various  shows throughout Vegas. Until then, tell them Pete sent you…
